By the age of 40, most people start to experience issues with reading because the eye’s natural lens begins to harden. The inability of the lens to change shape and hence, it’s power, makes it increasingly difficult to see at close distances. Ultimately, a pair of reading glasses or a bifocal is needed. Had a bad experience at a different place and came here to have cataracts removed from both eyes. There’s one girl who gets me ready for Dr Ellen almost every time, Amanda, she’s great! Many people are unaware that they have cataracts because the changes in their vision are so gradual, and the severity of cataracts vary from person to person. The loss of transparency may be mild, hardly impacting vision, or in some cases so severe that no shapes or movements are seen, only light and dark.
