
Andrew Whitley, O.D. graduated from NSU Oklahoma School of Optometry in 2013. During his time at NSU, he spent 3 months with Dr. Ellen as an extern in ocular disease at BVA and refractive surgery at TLC. He then completed a 13-month Ocular Disease and Surgical Residency at Bennett and Bloom Eye Centers in Louisville, KY. He was one of the first optometrists to perform laser procedures in more than one state. For over 6 years, Dr. Whitley practiced full-scope optometry in Durant, Oklahoma at the Clay-Rhynes Eye Clinic. In June of 2021, he joined OMEG to devote his entire practice to medical and surgical eye care.
Dr. Whitley has held privileges at the Alliance Hospital located in Durant, OK-providing emergency eye care. He previously was the director of the Clay-Rhynes Ocular Disease Residency program. He was integral in merging this residency with RGB Eye Associates surgery group in Sherman, TX in order to provide future students enhanced educational opportunities. Dr. Whitley has experience and enjoys presenting educational seminars both locally and internationally.
Dr. Whitley’s passion in eye care is for medical, laser, and surgical procedures for eye diseases such as Dry Eye Disease, Glaucoma, Cataract, Floaters, and Diabetes. In addition, he has extensive experience in refractive surgery consultations. He has been certified and experienced in performing Photorefractive Keratectomy since 2017.
Dr. Whitley’s passion outside the clinic are for his wife Courtnie and their three children: Owen, Abigail, and Olivia. He attends Sojourn Church in Tulsa.
