
Dr. Slama is a residency-trained optometrist in ocular disease and refractive surgery. A Minnesota native, Dr. Slama graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
She received her doctorate degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Slama was featured in Gold Key International Honor Society for leadership excellence, Lions Club International for providing eye care on mission trips to Mexico, and received a clinical excellence award from the American Academy of Optometry in ocular disease.
Dr. Slama has completed her advanced training in the treatment and management of ocular disease, post-operative care, refractive surgery, laser surgery, ocular injections, and minor lid procedures at BVA Advanced Eye Care and TLC Laser Eye Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In July 2015, she joined Oklahoma Medical Eye Group of Tulsa, OK specializing in ocular disease, laser surgery, and minor lid procedures. Dr. Slama is the Director of Tulsa’s Dry Eye Center at OMEG, which offers advanced testing and treatments in Dry Eye Disease. She also serves as the director of externship for fourth year optometry students from Northeastern State University College of Optometry and Southern College of Optometry.
Dr. Slama maintains professional affiliations with the American Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry, Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians, Women in Optometry Tulsa Chapter, and local Lions Club. Dr. Slama is an active volunteer in the Tulsa community for Vision for Humanity, Special Olympics, Morton Clinic, and provides eye care for Neighbor for Neighbor in Tulsa County.
